John T. Lenahan O'Connell papers, 1936-2001.

The collection consists of correspondence and military papers of Boston, Mass. lawyer John Thomas Lenahan O'Connell (known as "Lenahan"), 1936-2001. The correspondence includes personal letters between Lenahan and his wife Priscilla Halloran, and his brothers Joseph F. O'Connell, Jr. and Finbarr O'Connell. Some of the letters to Priscilla were written while serving in New Guinea during World War II. The correspondence also includes official letters to his father Joseph F. O'Connell and office assistant Margaret M. Kelly while working in his father's legal firm. The collection also includes military papers related to O'Connell's active duty in the U.S. Army, including service during World War II in the 332nd Field Artillery, and in the Judge Advocate General's Corp; and service in the National Guards and Reserves.
